New Parent-Infant and Parent-Child Classes

I have two sessions scheduled through February.

Parent-Child (walkers):
Six Fridays 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.
January 6, 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10

Parent-Infant (pre-walking):
Six Saturdays 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.
January 7, 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11

These are one-hour classes divided in two halves.

The first half hour is spent in quiet observation where the children are allowed uninterrupted self-directed play. We call this “wants nothing time” where we expect nothing from the children in terms of learning, being stimulated, or entertaining us. This is also  a “no free” zone where we are not correcting, disciplining or saying no unless something becomes dangerous. We just take these moments to find the children where they are and see what they have to show us about their capabilities and interests.

During the second half hour, the adults move in closer whilst the children continue their uninterrupted free play and the adults quietly discuss a chosen topic and are free to bring their own questions and discussion points.

Classes are located in both Edgewater and North Center. Contact Katepflynn@gmail.com for more info.
